PKP Intercity, the national carrier of Poland, has sold over one million tickets through KOLEO, the leading train ticket sales platform in the country. The platform offers single-use direct and transfer tickets for train travel across Poland, including transfer tickets for regional carriers. Passengers can purchase tickets through the KOLEO website and Android and iOS applications. PKP Intercity tickets started appearing on the KOLEO platform in October 2021, and passengers were quick to embrace this sales channel.

The sale of tickets on KOLEO was made possible by the introduction of the Unified Terms of Business policy, which simplified the formalities of starting a partnership. As a result, PKP Intercity tickets are also available on the and mPay platforms. The success of this collaboration has prompted PKP Intercity to focus on the development of remote channels and the expansion of its sales network, part of its strategy to streamline and simplify the passenger service process through the introduction of further digital solutions.

"We are pleased that travellers are willing to use the solutions we create together with our partners," said Tomasz Gontarz, a member of the board of PKP Intercity. "Unified terms and conditions are also an opportunity, worth taking advantage of, for other entities interested in selling tickets for travel on PKP Intercity trains. As the example of KOLEO shows, it is possible to achieve success in a short time."

Kuba Czajkowski, president of the board of Astarium, and the owner of the KOLEO platform expressed his pride in the platform's position as the leader in train ticket sales in Poland. "Passengers choose our platform to plan their train journeys and buy train tickets, because in KOLEO they can do it quickly, easily and safely," he said. "We listen to our users all the time, and that is why we will soon add further services and functionalities to KOLEO, which will make travelling by train in Poland even easier."

The success of the KOLEO-PKP Intercity partnership coincides with KOLEO's seventh anniversary. The company launched its platform on 1 March 2016. PKP Intercity is currently implementing the investment strategy 'PKP Intercity - Railway of Large Investments', aimed at developing rolling stock and railway and technological infrastructure. The company is investing in new technologies to help its specialists, including a new timetable management system.
