PKP Intercity's Baltic Express offers new direct rail connections between Poland and Prague.
On December 15, 2024, Poland’s largest rail operator, PKP Intercity, launched four new connections between Poland and the Czech Republic, including the new Baltic Express service. Operated in partnership with Czech Railways (České dráhy), the new routes aim to enhance international rail travel and offer passengers greater flexibility and convenience.
Enhanced Travel Options to the Czech Republic
According to PKP Intercity, the Baltic Express now connects key Polish cities, including Gdynia, Bydgoszcz, Poznań, and Wrocław, to Prague, while also serving smaller destinations such as Tczew, Inowrocław, and Gniezno. For the first time, as PKP Intercity's press release states, trains are stopping in Bystrzyca Kłodzka and Międzylesie, further improving accessibility in the Lower Silesian region. On the Czech side, passengers can board at key hubs such as Pardubice.
Baltic Express trains depart from Trójmiasto in the morning, afternoon, and overnight, giving travelers the flexibility to choose the most convenient schedule. The journey from Gdynia to Prague takes around 9 hours, with travel times of 5 hours 40 minutes from Poznań, and 4 hours from Wrocław.
