Ukrzaliznytsia provided the Armed Forces of Ukraine with refrigerated wagons to transport the dead Russian occupiers. It is planned to send 20 cars to transport “Cargo 200” (a military code word used in the Soviet Union and the post-Soviet states referring to the transportation of casualties) Russian soldiers from stations Fastiv, Odessa-Zastava, Podilsk, Merefa, and Zaporizhzhia.
Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk addressed the International Committee of the Red Cross with a request to mediate the export of bodies of Russian soldiers from the territory of Ukraine.
“We are taking certain steps, there are certain steps on the part of the Red Cross. Unfortunately, Russia does not react, it refuses to take over the bodies. We are now making a public statement and again asking Russia to remove the bodies of thousands of Russian soldiers,” said Vereshchuk.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, 9,000 Russian soldiers have already died during the week of intense fighting. The Russian side admits the deaths of 498 soldiers of its army.
