Last week, Ukrainian Railways officially announced that it would begin nationalizing the rolling stock of Russian companies located on the territory of Ukraine. It is estimated that there may currently be over 15,000 wagons on Ukrainian railways. The Bureau for Economic Security of Ukraine (BESU) announced that on their initiative, a procedure for the nationalization of 29 tankers belonging to the Gazpromtrans fleet had already been initiated.

BESU officers inspecting fuel and lubricant transport companies in the Zakarpatska Oblast (Mukachevo) found 29 tankers belonging to a Russian company. According to the attached photos, one can assume that this is a Gazpromtrans fleet. The tankers are designed to transport liquefied gas. The total value of these cars is estimated to be USD 1,160,000.

In addition, two more cars originating from Russia were discovered in Ivano-Frankivsk in western Ukraine. They are currently located in one of the Lviv railway stations, and the owner's identification is underway. The Ukrainian authorities said on their website that it would be followed by a proposal of the property's forcible seizure.

We remind you that following the Russian troops' invasion into Ukraine, Ukrainian Railways immediately announced that it was severing all relations with Russian Railways. In addition, according to representatives of the Ukrainian national carrier Ukrzaliznytsia, today rail links between Russia and Ukraine and Belarus and Ukraine are also destroyed.
