The engineering and construction company SWS Engineering (Italy) has completed the detailed design of the high-speed railway Sivas - Erzincan with a length of 247 km under the contract with the Turkish Railways (TCDD).

The five-station line, designed for trains at speeds of up to 250 km / h, will become part of a transport corridor connecting China and Central Asia with Europe via Istanbul, Ankara, Sivas, Erzincan, Kars, Tbilisi, and Baku.

The high-speed railway is designed for the movement of both passenger and freight trains. The route passes through areas with extremely high seismicity and difficult hydrogeological conditions.

The HSR includes 59 bridges with a total length of 17 km and 35 tunnels with a total length of 170 km. It is also planned to build 18 overground and 32 underground passages, 226 culverts.

The Sivas-Erzincan high-speed line will continue the 393 km long Ankara-Sivas high-speed line, which should be put into operation soon. Now tests are continuing it.
