photo: Thales/Thales is to supply Turkish railway lines with TTC track circuits. What effect will it have on railway operations safety?
Thales has been selected by Armco for the supply, installation, and commissioning of TTC track circuits on the Çerkezköy-Kapıkule section. The TTC track circuit will provide information for predictive maintenance of the system and ensure the safety of railway operations by detecting the occupation, presence, and departure of a train in a given area.
The Çerkezköy-Kapıkule section is the first phase of the Halkalı-Kapıkule railway project, a 231 km long railway line being developed in Turkey to connect the country's railway network with the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) through Bulgaria.

In addition, Armco has once again placed its trust in Thales signaling systems. The Isparta-Burdur-Denizli line is currently undergoing renovation. To this end, signaling and telecommunications systems are being installed on a 234 km stretch of conventional single track. The Thales TTC track circuits will facilitate predictive maintenance of the system and ensure the safety of railway operations. This technology will be installed on this route, which has 21 stations, and will be prepared to reach speeds of up to 160 km/h.
