SYSTRA and CelPlan Partner for CPTM's Communication Tech Upgrade in São Paulo

SYSTRA has been awarded a feasibility study to develop a plan to implement communication and information technologies (ICT) for the system of the ‘Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos’ (CPTM), a rapid transit and commuter rail company in São Paulo, Brazil.

SYSTRA’s teams from São Paulo (Systems) and Belo Horizonte (Consulting) will be working for CPTM alongside CelPlan, a Brazilian company based in the US, and the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). The study is scheduled for completion by the end of June 2024.

A VERY BROAD SCOPE OF WORK

SYSTRA’s work aims to clarify what can be done with CPTM’s current infrastructure, considering human resources, equipment, buildings, and services, as well as new investments and solutions.

More specifically, the feasibility study will:

• Assess CPTM’s current ICT resources for Wi-Fi systems, ticketing, passenger information, signaling, energy, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), data center, and the entire operation control center (OCC).
• Identify similar solutions adopted around the world.
• Qualify requirements, recommended hierarchy, and ICT organizational structure for the execution, operation, and management of the project.
• Develop the impact assessment of the proposed solutions with environmental verification.
