PKP Intercity at the Trako trade fair, featuring special cars produced by H. Cegielski Fabryka Pojazdów Szynowych for the Polish Armed Forces. These wagons are the result of a contract performed by the national carrier on behalf of the Ministry of National Defence. The full value of this contract is over PLN 106,4 million.
The subject of the contract is the delivery from the Poznan manufacturer of eight special passenger cars for the needs of the Polish Armed Forces, including six spaceless vehicles for the transport of soldiers and two wagons for the transport of convoys. The cars are second class and reach a speed of 160 km / h. Due to special arrangements, they will not be allowed for passenger transport.
The cars are equipped with gun stands, a place for backpacks, a place to sleep, a squad for the commander, a toilet with a shower.
''We are pleased with the cooperation of our national carrier with the Ministry of National Defence, which has resulted in a personal fleet exclusively for the needs of the Polish armed forces. The Polish army did not yet have its own cars and was forced to rent them - says Infrastructure Minister Andrzej Adamczyk.''
It is planned that these cars will also be approved for some central and eastern European countries. In addition to Poland, they will travel to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania.
