The Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic has submitted a draft law on public passenger transport which is currently in the inter-ministerial comment procedure. It includes the establishment of the National Transport Authority (NADA), whose task is to make train and bus transport more coordinated, efficient, transparent and attractive for passengers.

The aim of the establishment of the National Transport Authority (NADA) is to improve the connectivity of transport links, to enable passengers to use all modes of public transport on a single travel document, but also to harmonise fare conditions, the prices of which were also influenced by municipalities and municipal regions.
Currently, EUR 26 million is allocated from the renewal plan to finance the construction of a unified information system in public transport and an integrated transport system throughout Slovakia. Carriers will also have to ensure that all the necessary information for passengers, whether about timetables, price lists, discounts, delays, etc., is available in reliable electronic systems.
