Siemens Mobility is set to showcase its latest digital rail solutions at InnoTrans 2024, focusing on how digitalization can improve rail services and reduce environmental impact. Building on its previous successes, Siemens will highlight how digital tools can optimize maintenance, enhance infrastructure use, and provide seamless travel experiences.
"At InnoTrans 2024, we will demonstrate the latest innovations that deliver 100% availability of trains, maximized network capacity, and improvements to the customer experience to reach up to 100% occupancy," said Michael Peter, CEO of Siemens Mobility. One key project on display will be a collaboration with Munich's S-Bahn, showing how standardized APIs can integrate data from various sources for better fleet control and AI-based maintenance.

Moreover, Siemens Mobility will introduce new signaling technology that optimizes network capacities and energy efficiency. By using cloud infrastructure, the company can reduce maintenance and operating costs. Digital train control systems combined with Automatic Train Operation (ATO) over ETCS can increase capacity by up to 30%, reduce power consumption by up to 30% and improve punctuality by up to 15%.
Another highlight is the Railigent X suite, a cloud-based application that uses IoT and AI to optimize rail assets, cutting service delay costs by up to 40% and reducing unscheduled depot stops by up to 30%. Siemens Mobility will also present the MoBase e-commerce platform, which offers a one-stop procurement experience with over 350,000 spare parts and new repair services to reduce waste and optimize the supply chain.
