Another railway actor is saying no to Russia and Belarus. This time it is VÚŽ (Railway Research Institute) in the Czech Republic that has a test ring for rail vehicles and offers testing, assessment, and certification with focus on rolling stock, railway systems, railway transport.
„Výzkumný Ústav Železniční is a company based on two basic principles of our activities: impartiality and independence. These two principles are inseparable from each other, they create our DNA and constitute our most important value. We feel bound to defend those principles not only at our work but also in all our acts and behavior. We consider the attack on Ukraine, where we have many respected business partners, immoral, unscrupulous, and barbarian; it is an attack on Ukraine’s independence. That is why we join the initiatives of the Czech Government and EU and terminate all our business activities with Russia and Belarus,” is a quote from the VÚŽ website made on February 25th, 2022.
This decision was made during a morning meeting based on the measures adopted by the Government of the Czech Republic and the EU.
