Adif and Adif Alta Velocidad (Adif AV) advance in their strategic generational replacement plan with the launching of the Public Employment Offer (OEP) 2023, which will incorporate 1,451 professionals of 48 different profiles.

The launching of this call is aimed at technicians, technical staff, and operational personnel -the latter group representing 78% of the vacancies offered- and is part of its Pluriannual Employment Plan, with which Adif and Adif AV will incorporate more than 6,000 professionals in the period 2021-2025, who will take over 50% of the workforce, in what is the largest job offer in its history. So far, both companies have already offered more than 5,000 positions.

The deadline for applications begins on Monday, July 10, and will run until July 28. The rules are available on the websites of Adif and Adif AV.

"Attracting talent is one of the pillars of our Strategic Plan 2030, framed in a program of unprecedented generational change. In this context, we dedicate work and effort to incorporate new professionals to a unique project, which is leading a more sustainable and intelligent mobility model, as the first investor in the country; not only to contribute to the recovery of the country but also to promote a more competitive economy, around the green and digital principles, which drive the European funds NextGenerationEU", explains Mª Luisa Domínguez, president of Adif and Adif AV.

"Advancing in the democratization of passenger transport -with a liberalization process underway- and undertaking the transformation of our infrastructures and services -backed by the digital revolution- are equal challenges that we will successfully tackle with the incorporation of diverse talent," notes Domínguez.

"We are tackling a challenge that goes beyond numbers; a large-scale generational and cultural change with which we will make possible the transfer of critical knowledge -that accumulated by professionals during their long career in the railway world-, taking advantage of the capabilities and skills of new professional profiles -younger and digital-, incorporating more diverse talent and transforming the way we approach our work to successfully respond to the mobility of the future," comments Michaux Miranda, general manager of People management at Adif.

48 professional profiles

Adif and Adif AV will incorporate with this new call a total of 1,451 professionals: 78% correspond to operational staff, 7% to technicians, and 15% to technical staff.

The call includes 48 different profiles, in areas such as legal, finance, marketing, architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, safety, systems, and traffic; in addition to electrical assemblers of facilities, railway assistants, telecommunications officers, administrative or train drivers, among others.

More than 500,000 hours of training

New professionals joining Adif and Adif AV also have access to a diversity of training options, which is extended throughout their careers and which, in this context of transformation, is key to achieving the objectives of the 2030 Strategic Plan and leadership in mobility. The induction plan for recruits for the 2023 EPO includes more than 500,000 hours of training.

This welcome plan, in the case of technicians and technical staff, includes lectures given by managers and experts in different areas of activity, visits to facilities, and a technical training program related to their professional profile. The technical training for operational personnel is adapted to the different specialties: this is the case of the programs to obtain skills for the functions of Circulation managers or those in charge of maintenance work. Recently, more than 1,100 people have been trained, incorporated in the OEP 2022.

In 2022, Adif and Adif AV employees carried out more than 1,300,000 hours of training, more than double than in 2021, distributed in 7,384 courses, with an average of 107 hours/training/employee. 74.2% of Adif employees and 100% of Adif AV employees participated in at least one training course. The Adif 2023 Training Plan contemplates the participation of the entire workforce, with a total of 1,323,085 training hours.

The development of the training activity is mainly carried out in the three own and specialized Training Centers, which act as knowledge centers and training services: the Technological Training Center, in the railway complex of Valencia-Fuente de San Luis; the Traffic Training Center and the Executive and Management Training Center of Príncipe Pío; both in Madrid.

Company professionals complete their training with courses carried out at the Virtual Training Center (VTC); a transversal platform through which 367 courses have been carried out, with a total of 261,291 hours and 995 calls in 2022. More than 44% of Adif and Adif AV workers have been active on this platform in the last year.
