The redevelopment of Warsaw Zachodnia enters the next stage. The contractor has erected the retaining wall needed for the connector construction between the long-distance and suburban Warsaw Diameter lines enabling the station to be rebuilt and improving rail traffic in the Polish capital.

The scope of the work, scheduled to take place from 11 to 21 April this year, requires changes to the timetable on the suburban line. The largest investment by PKP Polskie Linii Kolejowe S.A. in Warsaw is a project for approximately PLN 2 billion net, co-financed by EU funds from OPI&E.

The construction of the link between the suburban cross-city line and the long-distance cross-city one is entering the next stage. The works will include dismantling unique 'larsen' type walls at the embankment of the cross-city line at the level of the railway viaduct near Warsaw Główna. The scope of the work requires a safety zone. Therefore, train traffic will be maintained on one of the two tracks of the suburban line.

The construction of a new connector in the future will improve planning and train traffic during further stages of the works at Warszawa Zachodnia station. The introduced solution will increase the possibilities of organising transport after the completion of the investment on the cross-city line.

Changes in the organisation of train traffic, in agreement with the carriers, are planned from 11 to 21 April. The passengers can find all the necessary information on portalpasazera.pl.
