To create space for Rail Baltica with a gauge of 1435 mm, it is necessary to rebuild the existing infrastructure in Ülemiste. That is why it will be required to demolish the existing 16.3-kilometre-long track and build more than 8 kilometres of a new one with a gauge of 1520 mm in its place.
