The South Korean company Dohwa Engineering and the Korean National Railways will participate in the design of a new high-speed railway line between Poland and the Czech Republic.

It is due to the tender of CPK for approximately EUR 30 million. We are talking about a high-speed railway connection between Katowice in Poland and Ostrava in the Czech Republic, which will benefit, first of all, high-speed passenger transportation, relieving already existing lines and thus making room for freight transportation.

The line will pass through the Polish cities of Rybnik, Żory, Jastrzębie-Zdrój, and Wodzisław Śląski. The last two points will get a new connection since it does not currently exist. In particular, a new intermodal terminal will be built in Wodzisław Śląski, which will serve as an important addition to the already existing network with important railway nodes (Ostrava, Katowice, Slavków, Dąbrowa Górnicza).
