The capital of Poland, Warsaw, has recently witnessed the completion of a state-of-the-art paint shop on the Olszynka Grochowska railway siding. Funded by an order worth roughly PLN 3.5 million, this endeavor is expected to usher in a new era of rail vehicle repairs while adhering to stringent environmental standards. The workshop, executed to perfection by contractor Sosnowski sp. z o.o. sk, is a testament to the ongoing commitment to enhancing the country's rail infrastructure. As the facility gears up for its operational phase, PKP Intercity is in the final stages of its acceptance procedures.

PKP Intercity, Poland's leading long-distance train operator, regards this latest addition as a pivotal moment in reinforcing the stature of its subsidiary, PKP Intercity Remtrak, within the rail repair market landscape. The facility's integration into the existing hall building has been seamless, ensuring that work operations remain undisrupted. "This state-of-the-art paint shop is emblematic of our resolve to continually enhance work quality and foster optimal working environments," stated Krzysztof Świerczek, a key figure on the management board of PKP Intercity. Beyond its primary function of painting and drying rail vehicles, the facility stands out for its ability to elevate the quality of paint applications, resulting in rail vehicles and components that look and function better post-repairs.

Reflecting on the broader implications of this investment, Witold Bawor, President of the PKP Intercity Remtrak management board, commented on the exponential value this paint shop adds to operations. Emphasizing its significance, he noted that the facility’s design is poised to enhance occupational health and safety, reduce environmental impact, and meet industry-specific painting and varnishing standards. By leveraging advanced techniques and safety measures, such as high-efficiency fans, the new paint shop also minimizes potential fire hazards. This venture, in conjunction with the historical collaboration between the national carrier and PKP Intercity Remtrak, underscores a continued commitment to upgrading the Polish rail sector.
