This rapid transportation is not just a feat of engineering but is a result of innovative fitting platforms, tailored for top speeds of up to 140 km/h. These platforms, a contribution by JSC Federal Freight Company, a subsidiary of JSC Russian Railways, come with a designed traffic schedule and locomotives fit for the task. In its voyage, expectations are set for the delivery of 80 large-tonnage containers to the port using a fleet of 20 high-speed cars.
“Our partners from the Russian Post company have participated in this new service initiative for us. Time-sensitive cargo, particularly E-COM, will now have an additional transportation option via rail. This will enable faster movement of goods, even on shorter routes,” said Alexey Shilo, Deputy General Director of Russian Railways and Head of the Center for Corporate Transport Services.
