LTG Infra, the company responsible for the Rail Baltica project in Lithuania, has announced tenders for the design services and project execution supervision of infrastructure maintenance depots in Kaunas and Panevėžys.

The winning tenderer will develop engineering projects for administrative buildings, rolling stock maintenance facilities, fire and rescue train buildings, warehouses, storage areas, access and service roads, and other required infrastructure. Dovydas Palaima, General Manager at LTG Infra Rail Baltica Management, highlighted that these depots will become significant economic centers in the regions, creating new jobs and adding value.

The supplier who wins the tender is expected to provide services within a year and a half, with the contract expected to be signed in the second quarter of 2023. Rail Baltica is the largest railway infrastructure project in the Baltic States, connecting Warsaw, Kaunas, Vilnius, Panevėžys, Riga, Pärnu, and Tallinn through a fully electrified double-track European gauge railway.
