Furthermore, the inclination to use rail travel more frequently has risen to 54%, indicating a growing enthusiasm to embrace the benefits of this extensive railway network.

The Rail Baltica initiative, which aims to integrate the Baltic states into the European rail network, has seen a steady rise in approval among Lithuanians, with 77% acknowledging its necessity for the country—a 4 percentage point increase from last year.
"Connecting with Europe and getting back on the rail map of the old continent is one of the main objectives of Rail Baltica. This is also being actively discussed in Brussels in today's geopolitical context, not only to complete the Baltic Sea transport ring but also to secure the transport corridor from the Baltic all the way to the Black and Aegean Seas," says Vytis Žalimas, head of LTG Infra managing the project's implementation. "It is also noteworthy that the security aspect is also increasingly mentioned by the population, with more and more people believing that the project will increase both road safety and national security," he added.

The survey also notes evolving public awareness regarding the project's potential to enhance road and national security, with 33% of respondents expecting improvements in traffic safety and another 10% foreseeing broader security benefits, according to LTG Infra.
