The Czech Republic is facing resistance to the introduction of DAC (Digital Automatic Coupling). Overall, DAC is welcomed, but the Big Bang for both rebuilding and rail/EVU funding is rejected. It is supported both by the Transport Section of the Chamber of Commerce and by Žesnad.cz, the freight rail association. More realistic migration planning is called for. Questions about the added value of DAC are legitimate, but no definitive timetable can be set without a proven workable solution and secured funding. The transition should be gradual. The Association has also prepared a legal analysis on the introduction of DAC.

It has previously called on the Ministry of Transport to clarify at the European level several contentious issues in its concept of the digital switchover. "The introduction of DAC must increase the competitiveness and safety of rail freight transport compared to other modes of transport, which is not currently clear. The association sees behind the current European concept unusual lobbying, which, moreover, still pretends to be an initiative of the European Commission, which, however, does not correspond to reality," says Oldřich, Executive Director of Sládek Žesnad.cz.
