Adif has reestablished the railway circulation on both tracks of the high-speed line between Camp de Tarragona, Barcelona-Sants and Figueres-Vilafant. It happened once the first repairs of the grave damage caused by the theft of cables that took place last night in the area of L'Arboç (Tarragona) were completed.
As a result, trains can now run along the entire high-speed line, although it is estimated that there may be delays due to speed restrictions along the route as the systems have not been fully normalised.

This situation will continue until the work to replace the affected facilities, which is complex due to the severity of the damage caused, is fully completed.
For these tasks, Adif is assigning several telecommunications and signalling teams, making a major technical and human effort to speed up the restoration of traffic in the shortest possible time, which has allowed the recovery of the normal operation of most of the facilities at this time.
According to initial estimates, approximately 600 m of fibre optic and signalling cable was stolen. The damage was detected in a section of about 200 metres around kilometre point 545, between L'Arboç and La Pobla de Montornès (Tarragona).

The theft of this type of material has affected communications, signalling, power remote control systems, falling object detectors and other safety devices.
Early in the morning, Adif informed the operating companies, Renfe Viajeros and Ouigo, of the suspension of rail traffic between Camp de Tarragona, Barcelona-Sants and Figueres-Vilafant stations and informed the Mossos d'Esquadra of these events.
Adif strongly condemns this vandalism and regrets the inconvenience this completely unrelated situation is causing users.
