Canada will assist in the restoration of the railway infrastructure of Ukraine, reports the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. In particular, it is noted that Canadian partners will join the solution of logistics problems to expand the capacity of the Ukrainian railway.
The agreement was reached during the discussions between the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, the Minister of Transport of Canada, Omar Alghabra, representatives of the two ministries, as well as the heads of Ukrzaliznytsia and the Railway Association of Canada.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, 6 thousand kilometers of railway tracks have been damaged or lost control, fifty bridges have been destroyed, dozens of railway stations and railway terminals have ceased to function," said Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
The Minister announced the creation of a joint working group to identify priority cooperation projects.
"We expect that shortly, we will come up with specific projects and start their implementation. I am grateful to my colleague Omar Alhabry for the initiative to create such a group and support Ukraine from the first days of the invasion. I am confident that the experience of Canadian railway workers will allow not only to restore the infrastructure but also significantly improve it," Oleksandr Kubrakov comments.
