CAF has recently signed two contracts with Metro de Madrid to replace the aging vehicle fleet for both narrow-gauge and broad-gauge lines. Siemens Mobility, in collaboration with CAF, has developed a state-of-the-art propulsion system for both fleets, enhancing the efficiency of the new trains and ensuring a superior performance for Metro de Madrid. The vehicles will be equipped with traction inverters, motors, and brake resistors to deliver optimal performance in both 1,500V and 600V catenary systems (bi-tension).
