Transport and Communications Minister Marius Skuodis recently assessed the ongoing works, emphasizing the railway's vital role, which last year catered to nearly 40% of the country's rail freight and 16% of passenger transit. The electrification venture, which includes the construction of six traction substations and eight autotransformers, is backed by an investment of EUR 411.26 million.
