Ermewa, in cooperation with Chemet, developed new LPG Safety++ wagons with the highest level of safety on the existing market.
Safety in transport industry is really important issue for Ermewa, especially in relation with transport of dangerous cargo. That is why they developed new innovative tank cars with French-Polish gas tank manufacturer Chemet. The cars meet the highest safety standards and the first of them are now ready for their operation on the railway.
Ermewa's new innovative tank trucks are designed for LPG transport. The Safety++ in their name means that the cars meet the highest safety standards. The cars offer transportation of a cargo up to the volume of 117 m3. The length of the car is 18 m. In addition to safety standards, these wagons are also compatible with newly introduced modern technologies on the railway. Their great advantage is excellent efficiency in daily operation.
The development process took two years. Key changes within the structural part included strengthening of the tank bottom, above all. In the event of an accident, this part of the car is in danger to be perforated. The new design measure prevents this kind of damage. As a result, the weight of the car increased, which was compensated by using a CFCB brakes type without a middle beam.
Ermewa should include a total of 240 of these LPG Safety vehicles in its fleet. In addition to the attractive design, the wagons have the highest safety standards currently available on the railway market. "Our latest model, LPG Safety, is an investment in the future. It combines state-of-the-art technology with maximum safety," said Peter Reinshagen, Managing director of Ermewa SA.
Ermewa has a long history as a railway safety pioneer. Ermewa strives not only to deepen the security standards, but also to develop its own innovative solutions. In the recent past, Ermewa has also invited other large railway companies to discuss safety together. For this purpose, a conference initiated by Ermewa was held in Prague in 2019.
Ermewa's rolling stock includes more than 42,000 rail cars. Among them. Ermewa can thus transport all kind of materials or goods, for example even dangerous and non-hazardous liquid, gaseous, bulk and diversified general cargo, including food and non-food products. In the future, the new innovative LPG Safety plus cars will confidently set further standards and trends in the railway sector.
