photo: DB press materials/Deutsche Bahn's stance on Ukraine is now being manifested into actions
DB allows refugees with a Ukrainian passport or an ID card to use all long-distance trains from Poland to Germany for free.
The goal of these policies, not only in Germany, is to make it easier for the refugees to travel around Europe. DB is in close contact with the federal government, the BMDV (the Ministry of Digital and Transportation), federal and state authorities as well as railways in neighboring countries of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Austria. DB and Polish railways are prepared to offer more transport capacity at short notice if it would be required.
Up to 6 Eurocity long-distance trains from Poland to Germany run daily. The long-distance trains start in Warsaw, Grandsk, Przemysl/Krakow and Vienna/Wroclaw.
