DB Cargo UK and DB Cargo Polska are working together to refurbish 60 steel-carrying wagons for Tata Steel’s operations in South Wales.
This joint effort supports Tata Steel's, one of DB Cargo UK's biggest customers, transition to more environmentally friendly production methods, as the company shifts from traditional blast furnaces to electric arc furnaces. The upgraded wagons will play a critical role in transporting steel slabs and coils during this transition. DB Cargo Polska will manufacture the new wagon frames at its advanced facility in Rybnik, Poland, with final assembly taking place at DB Cargo UK’s wagon maintenance site in Stoke-on-Trent.
