CWE Ltd, a supply, maintenance, and logistics company, has won and signed a contract with Network Rail to overhaul the roughing transfer assemblies of the Mk3 fleet of road ballasts.
The company will overhaul assemblies used to transport ballast to track work locations. Maintenance of the auto couplers, each set consisting of five cars and eight transfer assemblies, is scheduled to be performed every ten years. CWE will repair 24 assembly sets at its newly established Center of Excellence for Railroads in North Lincolnshire.
Nick Andrew, managing director at CWE, said, "Being appointed by Network Rail to work on this project is testament to our long-standing and proven track record of delivering major overhaul projects for the rail industry. This is an extremely important and significant win for CWE as we look to build on our ambition of being a strategic partner for the rail sector. Our maintenance, refurbishment, and replacement components for vital components are specifically designed to keep rolling stock on the tracks, both minimizing downtime and reducing carbon emissions."
CWE's long history of providing a comprehensive overhaul and maintenance service in the UK has ensured that CWE, which has a proven track record in the field, won the contract.
Nick Andrew added that "by combining a depth of knowledge with lean production processes and a flexible, can-do attitude, we can deliver projects on time without ever compromising on quality."
The company looks forward to productive results and what they will be able to accomplish in the coming year.
