The D35 highway is considered a crucial north-south corridor within the Czech Republic, offering a viable alternative to the congested D1 highway and playing a vital role in international traffic. The construction process is expected to kick off in the second quarter of 2024, beginning at the Džbánov junction and extending towards the northwest side of Litomyšl, eventually linking with the D35 Litomyšl - Janov highway section.
