This section is part of the larger S17 expressway, which connects major Polish cities like Warsaw, Lublin, and Zamość, and forms part of the international E372 route linking Warsaw to Lviv in Ukraine. Once completed, the S17 will span 125 km from Piaski to the Ukrainian border, improving regional infrastructure and boosting transportation in the Lubelskie region.
