There are currently more than 88 nations working for ÖBB, and the first job openings in the IT field are explained by the fact that communication and work processes can be carried out in English. The possibility of other job openings is still under consideration.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on March 24th, Ukrainians have been fleeing their homeland to nearby European countries, and Austria is no exception. During the past few weeks, ÖBB has been helping over 82,000 Ukrainians on its trains and, in cooperation with the charity organization Caritas, they have been welcomed at Vienna Central Station with warm tea, food and necessities (read here). Moreover, the ÖBB opened the ÖBB Lounge for the displaced persons, provided a supervised children's play area and waiting rooms, and provided meals.
Potential colleagues are expected to find at the ÖBB a diverse, international work environment that will help them cope with the situation as much as possible under the current circumstances.
