Railway lines also need a comprehensive service to ensure that trains are on track safely and on time. ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG is therefore working to ensure the efficiency and safety of rail operations on the ÖBB network, such as at Innsbruck Central Station, where a section of track will be renewed from 8 August (7 a.m.) to 12 August 2022 (6.30 p.m.) at the Sterzinger Straße / Südbahnstraße level. A total of 220 meters of the track (480 meters of rails), 340 sleepers, and 440 tonnes of ballast will be renewed. The work will take place around the clock, including during the night. ÖBB asks for the understanding of residents and customers that the work may lead to an increase in noise levels and dust pollution. In addition, platform assignments may be changed. Passengers are asked to pay attention to the announcements and notices on-site at Innsbruck Central Station.
