Alstom has successfully supplied, tested, and commissioned the signaling, centralized control, and driving modes for Cairo Metro Line 3 – Ph3A with a total of 4 stations from Attaba to Kit Kat. The Minister of Transport Mr. Kamel El Wazir has inaugurated the line with Gen/Eng. Sherif Leil the Chairman of the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT), H.E Ambassador Marc Baréty, The French Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Ramy Salah, Egypt Managing Director, Mr. Mohamed Ali, Customer Director at Alstom Egypt, Mr. Rufino Ortega, Egypt Systems & Infra Managing Director and Mr. Mena Azer, Project Manager of Alstom Egypt.
In November 2015, NAT awarded Alstom a contract to provide system and subsystem design, manufacturing, installation, testing/commissioning, training, and maintenance for signaling, driving modes, centralized control, and telecommunication systems for Cairo Metro Line 3 Phase 3. On the same date, NAT awarded Alstom, as a member of the G3 Power Supply Consortium, a contract for the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, training, and maintenance of a power traction system and depot equipment.
