Alstom and Plastic Omnium signed a memorandum of understanding based on which they intend to develop cooperation in the development of high-tech hydrogen storage systems for rail transport.

Such cooperation will allow partners to implement their mutually complementary competencies more effectively: Alstom - in the creation of modern rolling stock and Plastic Omnium - in the field of hydrogen technologies.

The companies will continue to work together on projects that have already begun and in 2022 plan to offer the market efficient solutions in the field of hydrogen fuel storage on regional trains, which are supposed to operate in France and Italy. The introduction of such trains will help to reduce adverse environmental impacts by eliminating rolling stock running on fossil fuels.
