Adif Alta Velocidad will improve access to critical facilities of its High-Speed Lines in operation to ensure the proper provision of rail service in the event of a storm.
The drafting of projects for the improvement of these accesses has been awarded 2.1 million euros and a completion period of fifteen months. The contract has been divided into four lots, corresponding to the North, North-West, East and South high-speed axes.

The contract aims to minimise the impact of storms on railway operation, guaranteeing the existence of an adequate access network to the most critical facilities for use by maintenance, safety and security personnel.
The work foreseen is as follows:
- Inspection of the scope of each Maintenance Base
- Preparation of a preliminary report on the criticality and accessibility of the points or sections
- Preparation of a study of alternatives, including viable solutions and their budgets
- Drafting of construction projects to improve accesses, with prior work on topography; geology, geotechnics and hydrology; seismic effects, etc.
