Cooperation between Toyota and GEFCO is nothing new since the companies have been supplying parts to factories in European countries for 20 years. GEFCO has created a special car-rail service that the car giant Toyota will use to transport car parts between Spain and northern France.
The two-way flights are expected to run twice daily. Such a decision is a major modal shift for both sides since, previously, only road transport was used on this route.

Particularly, this road-rail connection is crucial for transporting car parts to the UK, which are then returned to the mainland as cars by rail, which significantly reduces the carbon footprint of this supply route, making it a greener one.
"One of our priorities is finding solutions to help our supply chain partners reduce their carbon footprint.
