The Port of Marín is the first port in the Galicia region to use railways for freight transport. They maintain their leadership even at the national level, as they have the largest percentage share of goods on the railway for the total annual operation in the port. The project aims to remove manually controlled switches, the removal of which will improve workplace safety for workers who will not have to exert manual effort and who will save time and money at the same time.
The system will also monitor all activities at the rail port. The motorization of switches and the installation of related equipment to improve and simplify operations will enable the central monitoring of trains in the area of the track.
