At least 155 people got injured in a collision between two trains near Barcelona, Spain, reports BBC.

The accident occurred around 07.50 on Wednesday, December 7, at a railway station on the outskirts of Barcelona.

Local media reported that the trains were going in the same direction and collided when one of them was standing at the station. Emergency officials wrote on social media that the accident occurred at the MMontcada i Reixac - Manresa station, about 12 km from the city centre. They also added that 150 people had minor injuries, with three people hospitalized.

The Spanish national railway service Renfe noted that train traffic on several lines was briefly disrupted due to the accident.
