One of the most beautiful railway lines in the world is known mainly thanks to the movies based famous novel series by J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter. Legally, the famous Hogwarts express was driving on this route.
This rail route begins symbolically near Scotland's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, in the city of Fort Williams. It passes through Britain's westernmost mainland station, Arisaig, and passes Britain's deepest freshwater lake, Loch Morar, or the deepest saltwater lake in Europe, Loch Nevis.
The train stops in the village of Glenfinnan, followed by other picturesque villages. It is possible to get off at Arisaig Station. On clear summer days, it is possible to see the "Small Islands" Rum, Eigg, Muck, Canna and the southern tip of the Skye.
