With the app, DB rewards bikers for every kilometer they ride. The app converts the distance rode into credit that users can exchange for rewards and discounts at local stores in the current 14 campaign areas. The intention is to support the sustainable interaction of bike-riding and rail travel and to get even more people excited about climate stability.
The DB Rad+ bike app got favored by three arbitral groups of experts.
Deutsche Bahn's bike app won the German Sustainability Award while reaching a memorable turning point - the users of the app have has already reached a 1 million kilometer milestone.
The app has received an award in the Design category at the annual German Sustainability Award (DNP) ceremonial event, which took place on 2 December.
The app also received the Red Dot Award design prize.
Bernd Koch, Chairman of the Management Board of DB Station&Service AG, stated: "With DB Rad+, we are hitting a nerve: users of the app have already cycled more than one million kilometers together. The particularly user-friendly design also contributes to this. We are happy that the app has been so well received, not only by bikers but also by the juries of the design awards. With DB Rad+, we want to encourage commuters to switch to cycling and rail, and thus drive forward the climate change."
