After an exceptionally busy summer, PKP Intercity expects the increased popularity of rail travel to continue. The latest forecasts indicate that the company will end 2022 with more than 50 million passengers carried, beating the result of the record-breaking 2019 to date.

The more than 38.6 million people who traveled on PKP Intercity's trains from the beginning of the year to the end of August is more than for all of last year when just under 35.7 million passengers used the carrier's services. Recent weeks have shown that the end of the summer vacation was not tantamount to a significant drop in train attendance, which remains at a much higher level than a year ago. 2022, therefore, promises to be a record year - the limit of 50 million passengers may be exceeded.

"We are pleased that more and more people are choosing our trains, which motivates us to work hard to further develop our services. The interest in our offerings in recent days and weeks shows us that this year's autumn may be a time for frequent rail travel in Poland. We forecast that we will end 2022 with a new record result in passengers carried," says Marek Chraniuk, CEO of PKP Intercity.

"When embarking on a long journey, we always have some purpose for the trip - a family meeting, business matters, rest, or a job interview. Every trip is therefore a prelude to the next event. Every ticket is a chance to start a new chapter in life, which is what we wanted to show in "A million opportunities to rewrite your story." We will soon introduce a new promotion to our passengers, which will certainly create an opportunity to write your story anew," explains Tomasz Gontarz, Member of the Board of PKP Intercity.

Łukasz Madziar is responsible for the script, direction, and production of the film, and the implementation was coordinated by the Publicis Consultants agency.
