PKP Intercity, Poland’s national carrier, has transported 60 million passengers since January 2023, marking its best transport outcome in over two decades.
The company is on track to exceed this record, projecting an additional 7 million users by year-end, potentially elevating the annual passenger count to an unprecedented 67 million. The company's vice-president, Tomasz Gontarz, attributes this success to years of dedicated work, investment, and strategic decisions. "Our goals are becoming more realistic, and I deeply believe that by continuing the strategy we have adopted, we will become the means of first choice for as many Poles as possible," stated Gontarz.

Each month of 2023 has set a new record for PKP Intercity, with July witnessing a staggering 7.1 million travelers. August 11 marked the year's busiest day, catering to 254,000 passengers. The year-on-year comparison underscores this growth trajectory, with 2023 witnessing a substantial 16% increase in passenger numbers compared to the same period in 2022. PKP Intercity's record-breaking figures can also be attributed to its strategic pricing models. The "Cheaper with loved ones" campaign, offering a 30% discount for groups traveling together, and the dynamic 'Promo' pricing system, have made train travel more affordable and attractive.
