The current regulations which enable refugees from Ukraine to receive free train tickets will be valid until Thursday, 30 June. From Friday, 1 July, these journeys will be carried out according to the general principles contained in the regulations of PKP Intercity.

PKP Intercity was the first railway carrier to introduce free travel for Ukrainian citizens in the 2nd class of TLK and IC economy category trains on 26 February this year. Until the last days of June, more than 2.3 million Ukrainians have used the PKP Intercity services.

From the 1st to the 30th of June, eligible citizens of Ukraine can travel free of charge only on routes from and to cities located at the eastern border, including Chełm, Dorohusk, Lublin, Hrubieszów, Przemyśl Zagórze, Jarosław, and Rzeszów. You can find the details of the current rules here.

Recent months have demonstrated the importance of PKP Intercity as a national passenger carrier. In a short period, rolling stock was provided, and hundreds of employees were engaged to receive the first wave of refugees. This time has proven that the railroad is a reliable means of transport - both daily and in emergencies. It is worth noting that despite the large commitment to helping the refugees from Ukraine, at the same time, PKP Intercity was fulfilling its primary tasks of daily transport of thousands of Poles. This year's May was a record month in the entire history of the company. In the first five months of this year, more than 20 million people used the services of the long-distance carrier. On the other hand, last Sunday, 19th June, the highest number of passengers in the 20-year history of PKP Intercity was carried. Intensive preparations for the summer season are underway.

A special helpline in the Ukrainian language operates at all times by PKP Intercity. It is a dedicated number for Ukrainian citizens who wish to receive information in their mother tongue about the PKP Intercity timetable and other passenger issues. The helpline is available seven days a week between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm: +48 22 473 00 86 (call costs as per operator's tariff). Information is also available on the PKP Intercity website in two language versions - Polish and Ukrainian.
