The current regulations for issuing free tickets for refugees from Ukraine will be in force until Thursday, 30 June. From Friday, 1 July, these journeys will be held on general principles contained in the regulations of PKP Intercity.

Free travel for Ukrainian citizens in the 2nd class of TLK and IC economy category trains was introduced on 26 February this year. PKP Intercity was the first rail carrier, which gave such a possibility. Until the last days of June, over 2.3 million Ukrainians have used the PKP Intercity services.

From the 1st to the 30th of June eligible citizens of Ukraine can travel free of charge only on routes from and to cities located at our eastern border, i.e. Chełm, Dorohusk, Lublin, Hrubieszów, Przemyśl Zagórze, Jarosław and Rzeszów. Recent months have confirmed the importance of PKP Intercity as a national passenger carrier. In a short period, rolling stock was provided and hundreds of employees were engaged to receive the first wave of refugees. This time has proven that the railroad is a means of transport which can be relied upon - both daily and in emergencies. It is worth noting that despite the large commitment to helping the refugees from Ukraine, at the same time PKP Intercity was fulfilling its primary tasks, namely the daily transport of thousands of Poles. This year's May was a record month in the entire history of the company. In the first five months of this year, more than 20 million people used the services of the long-distance carrier. On the other hand, last Sunday, 19th June, the highest number of passengers in the 20-year history of PKP Intercity was carried. Intensive preparations for the summer season are underway.
