Thanks to the cooperation of the Ministry of Health, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) and Ukrzaliznytsia, a new mini-hospital train was launched on the first flight. It consists of several cars, including an intensive care car.
"Such transport allows evacuating sick, wounded and injured citizens from hot zones of Ukraine for further specialized treatment," the Ministry of Health states.
About 300 patients and their family members have been transported from combat zones by special medical trains to date.
The ministry also said that the medical humanitarian organization Médecins Sans Frontières is looking for Ukrainian specialists who can join the work of the evacuation train team. They need intensive care nurses who are easily adapted to work in new conditions and ready to work in different regions.
"Candidates should have experience in providing care in case of injuries, care for patients after orthopedic surgery and/or practical knowledge in the intensive care field," added the Ministry of Health.
