Alstom and Transdev established implementation of the supply contract in Crespin, Hauts-de-France. The agreement includes a supply of sixteen eight-car Omneo Premium trains for the Marseille-Toulon-Nice line, which Transdev will start its operation in the summer of 2025.
Alstom has agreed to deliver a 10-year maintenance service for the sixteen trains that include maintenance engineering, supply of spare parts, and overhaul of the main components. It also incorporates the maintenance of bogies, engines, and pantographs.
The worst of the supply order is estimated to be EUR 250 million, and it also includes support for maintenance for the next ten years. The final delivery of Alstom trains gets scheduled for the end of 2024.
The Omneo trains for the Marseille-Toulon-Nice line will get customized to fulfill Transdev's requirements.
Interior designs will provide all the service needs of the province - expanded bike storage areas - twelve in each car, doors separating the first-class areas and interior designs inspired by the region.
The 8-car train, which has got a span of one hundred meters, can carry up to 352 passengers. In addition, there are 66 foldable seats for short-distance voyages. This high capacity got reached by alternating single and double-deck cars.
The Crespin manufactory will develop, manufacture, assemble and authorize the Omneo Premium trains for the Marseille-Toulon-Nice line, the first concession of a French regional line.
The trains will also offer several beneficial services, such as a modern surveillance system, the possibility to book specific seats, and bike storage spaces.
Long-distance voyages are exceptionally comfortable thanks to wide seats and the glass walls offer a chance to enjoy the natural light and the panorama of the seaside. Passenger information will be easy to understand thanks to several screens and monitors. The trains got also equipped with complex air conditioning as well as 2-floor decks (upper and lower). Providing Wi-Fi, USB and electric sockets is a matter of course for these trains.
