The nationwide strike that will take place in Germany from May 14 to 16 will affect cross-border trains and domestic rail services. It will occur in Germany from Sunday, May 14 (22:00) to Tuesday, May 16 (24:00) and will restrict day and night rail traffic.

The daytime traffic restrictions will affect services within Austria between Salzburg and Tyrol via Deutsche Eck, where trains will run with the rails replaced. They will terminate and start at Salzburg Hbf and Kufstein, and an additional bus service will be provided every two hours between Salzburg Hbf and Wörgl Hbf.
According to ÖBB, the following additional daily connections to and from Germany will be reduced or cancelled from 15.5 for the duration of the strike:
- RJX trains to/from Munich start and end at Salzburg Hbf
- All IC and ICE trains to and from Passau will be cancelled
- Long-distance trains from Austria and Switzerland via Lindau-Reuthen start and end in St. Margrethein
- Long-distance trains via Tower/Ennstal start and end at Salzburg Hbf
- Long-distance trains via Brenner start and end in Kufstein or partially in Innsbruck
The nationwide strike in Germany is also affecting night trains. For example, from Sunday night, May 14, to Monday, May 15, night trains to/from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and France will not be able to run. The night flight to Paris will be cancelled on the night of Saturday, May 13, to Sunday, May 14. On the night of Wednesday, May 17, to Thursday, May 18, night trains should run again as scheduled.
