Hitachi Rail and EASIER have won the tender issued by EGIS, an international French engineering group specializing in transport infrastructure, to supply ticketing systems for the 'Câble C1' project, the first public transport cable car in the Île-de-France region.

This new cable car will link the towns of Créteil and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges via Limeil-Brévannes and Valenton. Initiated by Île-de-France Mobilité, this ambitious project will see the light of day in 2025.

Ile-de-France Mobilité has placed its trust in Hitachi Rail's integrated ticketing system solutions, which enable it to adapt to rapid technological developments and meet new demands for local mobility. The system will also integrate EASIER gates equipped with "DIRAS" infrared detection technology, designed to facilitate travel for the 1,600 or so people expected at peak times while guaranteeing optimum fraud management.

EASIER has been selected to manufacture, install, and maintain almost 60 swing-door access control gates. Hitachi Rail's Transcity™ solution, for its part, will be integrated into the Ile-de-France Mobilités ticketing ecosystem in a cyber-secure way and will enable transactions to be managed using a complete range of contactless payment systems.

For Hitachi Rail and EASIER, this success is further proof of their recognized expertise in an increasingly connected transport sector, with innovative technologies designed to simplify the passenger experience.

Jean-Marc Reynaud, Vice President of Hitachi Rail - Revenue Collection Systems, said, "We are proud of the confidence placed in us by Ile-de-France Mobilités in this innovative public transport project for the first cable car in the Ile-de-France region. We are committed to providing our experience in terms of equipment reliability and continue to collaborate with EASIER, remaining determined to stimulate innovation in the transport sector."

Alain Combette, Sales Director for EASIER, said, "We work regularly with the Hitachi Rail Group, particularly on the Grand Paris metro project. This partnership between our companies enables us to remain ever more competitive, but above all to deploy our products and expertise to transport as many passengers as possible. Créteil's 'Câble C1', the first urban cable car in the Paris region, promises to be a minor revolution in the world of Parisian mobility. With overflights of between 25 and 40 metres, there's no doubt that this new mode of public transport will be innovative, both in terms of the design of the vehicle and the infrastructure on the ground."
