On February 15th and 16th, 2022, the 1st meeting of the Working Group on trade and economic cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan was held under the co-chairmanship of the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Arzybek Kozhoshev and Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov.
One of the key issues here was the agreement that from February 21st, 2022, the regular passenger rail transport from the Kyrgyz Republic through the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Russian Federation would resume.
The condition however is that the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic will be successful in negotiations with the Russian Federation on the issue and will obtain consent for this agreement to be possible.
