The framework contract for the supply of hydraulic braking systems for the tram wagons of the Citadis family between Knorr-Bremse and Alstom has been extended for the next 5 years. Delivery of brake and door systems for 69 wagons of the Citadis tram began in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Of these, 49 seven-section wagons with a length of 46 m are intended for operation in Nantes, the sixth-largest city in France. The rolling stock will be equipped with a set of Knorr-Bremse braking equipment, including electro-hydraulic and electronic units. The supplied double-leaf entrance doors meet the requirements of accessibility for passengers with disabilities, which, along with the low-floor design of the carriages, will increase the mobility of the population and the attractiveness of public transport.
Knorr-Bremse and Alstom have a long-standing partnership. Since 1998, more than 1,600 Citadis tram wagons equipped with Knorr-Bremse equipment have been produced. In November 2020, the framework agreement between partners for the supply of braking equipment for regional trains Coradia Lint and Coradia iLint was extended for 5 years.
