Under the program, which began in May 2021, DB invested 120 million euros (135.59 million USD) in improving its stations' appearance and comfort. This money went to improvements, such as 400 new benches and 100 more weatherproof shelters, which benefited about 900 craftsmen.
DB also used more than 100,000 liters of paint to refresh the look of the stations.
Approximately 90 stations were converted to LED lighting to improve sustainability, and DB replaced about 50 least energy-efficient heating systems.
The project included several station improvements across the country that would improve the appearance of the facilities and their availability.
For example, at Munich's Donnersbergerbrücke DB station, it remodeled stairs, floors, and ceilings and laid new tiles, while the Göttingen Hauptbahnhof station received new lifting equipment and benches for wheelchairs.
